We give ample opportunities to our students to participate and win prizes through the year marked competitions The school is divided into four houses, Swami Vivekananda, Rousseau, Ravindranath Tagore and Socrates. The houses are the focus of many of the important co-curricular, extra-curricular and other celebrations which takes place outside the classroom. The house system promotes a spirit of friendly and healthy competition in sports and cultural activities. Co-curricular Activities plays a pivotal role in preparing the students to face various challenges in life. One's personality development is a must especially during early years of life. Keeping the importance of personality development and to engender different skills among the students, our school conducts various inter house competitions under CCA. These activities are conducted throughout the year as marked in the school calendar. The competitions like elocution, debate, poem recitation, drawing, painting, drama, skit, dance, group song, solo song, extempore speech, mono acting are usually inducted We encourage the students to participate in sports activities of the choice and provide them with proper coaching and required facilities and to develop the sporting skill. The sports complex is directly to the central playground near the hostel equipped with facilities for Cricket, Volley ball, Football, Basket ball, Taekwondo, Fencing and Skating. Good, healthy and hygienic nutritious food is essential for a growing child. Children are provided with wholesome breakfasts, meals and soups. The diet is vegetarian and non- vegetarian , well balanced wholesome and nutritious. Success of an institution is woven around its pillars, which supports as well as facilitates growth. Sports activities have become an integral part of the school curriculum. A specially designed play area with modern play equipments is also made available to all the tiny tots. We give special emphasis on physical fitness and health education. Trained professional personnel help the students to acquire skills and techniques required for various games and sports. They enjoy out-door games like football, hockey, basketball, cricket, lawn tennis and so on. We have made available the coaching facility for indoor games like carom, chess and table tennis. They are also trained in athletics, gymnastics and skating. The school keeps its specialty in coaching Maharashtrian Martial Art. The special training of it is being provided to the students. We teach the ancient forms of martial arts like Pole Gymnastics (Malakhamb), which is still quite popular, Bamboo Staff fight (Silambam), Indian Sword with Gauntlet called Dandpata, Sword Fighting, Fighting with Staff (Lathi), Belt (Patta), Bana, Madu, Jambya, Khanjeer (Types of daggers) etc. This is a tiny step towards in a bid to preserve and promote the vanishing Maharashtrian Martial Art. Moreover, Music, Dance, Drama, Art and Craft, Flute, Harmonium, Tabla, Drawing and Painting, Calligraphy and so on are the part and parcel of our curriculum. Many activities are conducted by various coaches to unveil the talents. We conduct yoga and pranayam for the concentration and mental relaxation of children. Maharashtrian ancient marshal art (Shivakalin Mardani Khel) i.e dandpatta, lathi-kathi, bhalafek, veeta etc Disaster management which helps to overcome out of the natural calamities like earthquake, floods, fire and save the lives. We arrange for field visits, nature walks and visit to historical monuments , forts , sanctuaries and museum, flora and fauna. We give significance to mental as well as physical growth by facilitating the coaching of the games like Hockey, Kabaddi, Kho-kho,Handball,Volley ball, Basket ball, Judo, Karate, Fencing, Horse riding and rifle shooting-for which a big rifle shooting range is being in process. DCPIS emphasize not only on the Scholastic areas but also on the Co-scholastic . We boost the fine art skills like Dance, Drama, Music (Instrumental and Vocal),Art and Crafts. We impart Vocational training (Life Skill) for the better future of the children. We are anticipating to get shifted to our newly proposed School building which is on the verge of completion. This infrastructure consists of 400 mtrs. Running track, skating track, swimming pool, tennis court, shooting range, indoor games court, open air amphi theatre ,artillery room, herbal garden, butterfly garden fish pond, traffic signal area, farming yard etc. DCPIS gives significance to Socially useful and productive work(SUPW) so as to make every individual self reliant. We provide the students the opportunities to learn Motor Mechanism, Carpentry, Plumbing, Wiring & Fitting etc. It's a sort of mini training in engineering skills.
